REPORT.

At Rahotu on Tuesday there was an average yarding, and good attendance, with good competition for nearly all lines. Calves and store cows were in good demand and sold at improved rates. Small calves made 17s to 22s 6d, good calves 25a to 345, 15 to, 18 month heifers £3 2s, Jersey heifer calves £2 Os 6d, 2j year to 3 heifers in calf £3 10s to ~£4 13s, fat cows £4 15s to £5 9s, store cows £2 16s to £3 10s. At Pungarehu on Wednesday I held a clearing saie on account of Mr Smithem, when in spite of the rain there was a good attendance and satisfactory prices were realised for both live and dead stock. The cows were a good lot, and any showing of quality and forward sold really well. Early calves made £6 10a to £ll 10s, later calvers £5 10s to £6 10s, springing heifers £5 to £5 10s, yaerling heifers £2 7s.

At Waiwakaiho, on Thursday, cattle came forward in excess of advertised numbers, and there was a good attendance. Several pens of heifers were yarded, but being mostly in a backward condition were not enquired for. Good calves were in demand but few came forward. Mixed weaners made £1 to £1 7s, heifer calves £1 16s, 18 month to 2 year steers £2 19s 6d to £3 6s, springing heifers £5 to £6 7s 6d, store cows £2 to £2 17s, fat cows £5 3s, forward cows £3 6s to £3 lis, bulls £3 18s 6d to £5 4s, working bullocks £2O 10s per pair, lambs 8s 4d, old ewes 5s Id.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report;— At Ohaupo, on Tuesday, 6th inst., we submitted 540 head of cattle, also sheep, and all were required, cattle of all classes selling at improved prices: 3J year steers in forward condition £6 6s to £6 15s, 3 year steers £5 13s to £6, 2J year steers £4 7s to £4 13s, well grown calves £1 17s to £2 2s 6d, smaller sorts £1 6s to £1 14s, fat cows £5 13s, grown bulla £3 5s to £4 10s, 3 year heifers in calf £5 10s to £6 10s, store cows £2 15s to £3 17s 6d, according to condition, empty ewes in forward condition 9s 9d.

On Wednesday at Ngaruawhia on account of Mr T. James, dairy cows made £7 10s to £lO 15s, 3 year heifers in calf £8 3s 6d to £8 10s, 18 month heifers £3 9s, calves mixed sexes £1 19s, small fat steers £7 15s, 2J to 3 year steers in forward condition £5 10s, well grown 20 month steers £3 13s.
