The householders' meeting, which had "been adjourned, to elect a School Committee for the ensuing year was held on Monday evening. There was a fair attendance and Mr Forster was voted to the chair. The following gentlemen were elected: —Messrs Burnand, Ormsby, Piggot, Miller, Whyte, Rhodes and Elliott. At the first meeting of the School Committee following on the election, Mr C. Miller was elected Chairman. A meeting of the Roman Catholic Church building committee was held at Mrs Forster's residence on Saturday evening last It wa3 decided to hold a "monster euchre drive" on Wednesday, June 14th, in Turner's Hall, Otorohanga, to be followed by a dance, refreshments to be provided. Mr Neary, of Otorohanga, has given a handsome military bridle, as a gentlemen's prizp, and Father Brennan a silver-backed hair brush for the successful lady. It is expected that a large attendance will reward the committee's efforts.
