THE RUNAWAY TRAIN.

ENGINE DRIVER SHARES THE HONOURS. [liY TK LEG BATH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION".] Wellington, Monday. The Government has presented Mr R. Claude, of Westfield, with £SO, as a reward for his prompt and capable action in stopping a runaway train at Otahuhu on the night of April 17, and thus saving the Main Trunk train from the possbiilty of a collision. Inquiry shows that the express driver had seen the other train and had pulled up before Mr Claude displayed red lightF, and the driver of the express ha?, thereore, been granted a £lO bonus for kesping a good lookout.
