For all fleshy stock there was a keen demand, but for store stock competition was not brisk. With reference to sheep, there was hardly a pen of really good forward wethers entered, the whole number practically being in low condition. At Ngaruawahia, on 17th, we held our annual sale of cattle and sheep for turnip stocking purposes, when an entry of 150 cattle and GSOO sheep came forward. The cattle were in good forward condition, but the yarding was not as good as was anticipated.
