A LETTER OF THANKS.

To The Ediitor,

Sir, —I desire to express to you my very hearty thanks far your very considerate notification of my illness last week, as the same resulted in a great relief to myself and family. I wish also to thank rny fellow Councillors and the staff of the Borough Council, for the hearty and loyal manner in which they relieved me of my public duties in connection with the work of the Council. Further, I particularly desire also to thank Mr Moore, Postmaster, and his staff for their great kindness in regulating the work of the telephone; for, to one with nerves and brain considerably out of tune, the telephone becomes a terrible exasperating little instrument. Last, but not least, I desire to thank the people of Te Kuiti for their very kind interest and sympathy, as witness so many kind i-mqi!iries from all sections of the people. I am now pleased to sav that, thanks to a sound constitution, the skilfui treatment of Dr. Zobol, and other good influences, I am thoroughly convalescent, and trust that with a iittle quiet rest "by the side of the restless sea," I shall soon be able to take up my varied duties m full health and vigour. Again thanking one and all. — I am, etc., JAMES BODDIE, Mayor.
