NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. By Telegraph. —Special to Chronicle. New Plymouth, May 13. At the Haymarket on Saturday, store pigs made 14s 4d to 15s 6d, small stores 10a 6d, weaners 4s 6d to 8s (3d. At Rahotu on Tuesday, weaner cattle made lf>s to 283 (id, weaner steers 27s (id, store cows £2 2s to £2 14s (id, mixed yearlings £2 ss, forward cows £3 8s to £4l fs, fat cows £5 10s to £(), in calf heifers £4 ss, bulls £4 3s to £(> 3s. At Waiwafcaiho on Thursday, there was a good yarding, with a fair attendance of buyers, and good prices were realised. Mixed weaners made 30s to 325, weaner steers :30s, IS month steers £3 13s (id, in calf heifers £4 4s, springing heifers £5 to £5 15s, store cows £2 10s to £3 2s 6d, forward cows £3 6s to £4 2s (id, cows in calf £4 10s to £5 15s, grade Jersey yearling heifers £3 10s to £3 15s, purebred Jersey heifers springing £l2 5s to £ls 10a, pedigree Ayrshire heifer in milk £ll lis, bulls £5 to £5 17s 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., report:— At Mr W. A. Spires clearing sale on Monday, Bth inst, there was good competition. Dairy cows made from £6 10s to £0 10s, Jersey heifers in calf £6 19a, heifer calves £2 2s, steers £2, medium draught mare £3O, light horses £6 5s to £ll 10s. At Ohaupo on Tuesday, 'Jtli we yarded 957 sheep and 38 3 cattle. Sheep all sold at improved values and a fair demand existed for cattle. Prices: 2A year steers £4 14s, 20 month steers £3 53 to £3 Ss, fat cows £5 17sG d to £(1 10s, cows in forward condition £4 3s to £4 I as, store cows £2 15s to £3 7s 6d, good calves £1 7s to £1 ISs, small calves 14s (id to 15s, dairy cows £4 10s to £8 153. At Rangiriri on Wednesday, lOtth, 550 cattle came forward. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co. report: — At Paeroa on 10th insfc., we held a sale of 2000 acres of Messrs Bangall Bros.' well known Turua estate, situated on the western banks of the Waihou river, opposite Puriri and Matatoki. The block was subdivided into 44 sections, and offered on very fav ourable terms. Only three sections were sold under the hammer, but immediately afterwards sections totalling 1060 acres were placed, and there is evury prospect of the balance going shortly. The highest price given was £lB for 110 acres with cottage and 24 bail cow-shed. Other sections made up to £l2. At Hamilton yards on 11th, we had a full yarding—l 47 fat cattle, 475 dairy and store cattle. 14S0 sheep, 54 pigs. There was a large attendance from all parts of the district and all required stock. Weaner pigs 7s to Ss 6d, slips 17s to 275, fat wethers 17s to 22s 3d, fat ewes 13s 9d to 10s 3d, shorn lambs Ss to 9s, small store wethers lis t>d to 12s 9tl, fit steers medium weights £9 Ss to £ll la, light weight steers £0 15s to £8 ss, fat cows and heifers no heavy weights £5 5s to £0 14s, fresh 3 year steers £5 17s Cd, store cows £2 5s to £3, Jersey cross year heifers in calf £6 15s, Holstein cross £7 9s, grade Shorthorn heifers in calf £4 10s to £5 10s, yearling Jersey cross heifers £4 4s to £6 6s, good weaner calves 363 to 455, medium sorts 25s to 30s, small and weak calves 15s to 22a, good class dairy cross to come in early £5 5a to £6. On May 12th we held a clearing saleat Taupiri on behalf Messrs of Worsp Bros. The 200 dairy heifers to come in next season were a particularly choice lot. We hsve not seen equal to them in Jersey and Shorthorn cross. There was good competition for these, the highest price being £7 17s 6(1, and the lot averaged £6 2s.
