Implements and sundries made the usual prices. On account of Mr S. E. Grant, his whole ; herd of Holstein cows: Pedigree cows ill to 27gns, grade Holstein cows ; SAgns to IS gns, heifers 72gns to 1 13Agns. The whole herd of 45 cows and heifers averaged £l3 Cs 4d. Fat i ewes 14s. j At Waihou on sth inst, we yarded 920 cattle and 650 sheep. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report: The usual tri-weekly stock sale was held in the Hamilton yards on 4th inst.,when there was a good yarding of ' fat sheep and a fair yarding of cattle. There was a keen demand for sheep, i especially fats, which were all ! cleared at satisfactory prices. The ; cattle, though few in number, met j with a ready demand, and were all sold. Dairy cows to calve in spring £5 5s to £7 10s, 2 year heifers in calf £4 ss, 18 month heifer in calf £3 ss, cows and | calves £4 Is, calves £1 14s, mixed sheep, ewes and hoggets 12s 2d, breeding sows £1 Is to £1 17s 6d, slips 4s, medium draught mares and geldings £l9 5s to £23, lighter sorts £ls 5s to £ls 10s, hacks £4 15s to :£6 ss, spring cart and harness £l9. | At Pio Pio on Wednesday, 3rd ! inst., our yarding comprised 223 | head cattle and two small lines of I sheep. There was no demand for I the latter or young cattle, but | steers of 3 years and upwards with 'some condition sold well; 20 month steers £3 7s, 21 to 3 year steers £4 12s, cows £2 10s to £3 ss, calves £1 Is to £1 l is, 18 month heifers in calf £3 7s. At Matamata on same day we had a large muster of cattle and sheep, also horses and sundries, and everything changed hands under brisk competition. Prices: Fat cows £5 7s to £6 15s, forward cows £4 5s to £5, store cows £2 12s 6d to £3 10s, 3 year steers in fresh condition £6 loa to £6 17s, 21 year steers £4 15s to £4 19s, 18 month steers £3 2s 6d. 20 months to 2 year steers £3 15s to £4, calves £1 8s 6d to £1 15s, small calves £1 to £1 ss, 18 month heifers in calf £3 8s to £3 12s 6d, fleshy bulls £4 10s to £6 12s 6d, dairy cows £5 to £6 10s, useful hacks and harness horses £5 10s to £l3 10s, 2 year fillies £7 5s to £9, store ewes 10s, mixed ewps and wethers 13s 6d, fat lambs 12b 6d, store pigs 15s to 16s 6d.
