WEDDING.

SYMES—THOMSON. A very pretty wedding took place on Thursday, May 4th, at Otorohanga, the contracting parties being Mr Richard Symes, son of Mr A. Symes, of Te Awamutu, and Miss J. Thomson, from Kihi Kihi. The service took plac# at St. Bride's Church, the Rev. Wayne performing the ceremony. The church was well filled with relatives and friends. Miss D. Johnson officiated at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, was handsumely attired in ivory paillette silk prettily trimmed with insertion. The bridesmaids were Miss Lilas Furter, in a pretty cream dress and large hat trimmed with blue ribbon, and Miss Dolly Burnard in a pale blue silk dress and big white hat. Mr Symes' cousin acted as best man. After the ceremony the party adjurned to Mr Burnand's cosy villa, which had been generously placed at their disposal. A very sumptuous breakfast was partaken of and the health of the newly married couple and the usual toasts were heartily honoured. The happy couple were the recipients of a great number of pretty and useful presents.
