THE HUIA BIRD.
SEEN' IN THE OH UK A. By Telegraph,—-Own Correspondent. Ohura, Last Night. Mr John Storey, one of the contrac tors building the new saleyards, while returning home to lunch to-day pro- | eeeded across the clearing which was once the site of an ancient Maori Pah, I dituated immediately behind Ohura I township, and observed what on close examination was undoubtedly a huia, which Hew from the clearing into the bush. Mr Storey is a new arrival here, and unfamiliar with native birds, but from his minute description the identity of the presence of the huia here is unquestionable.
