Dej spite, the wet weather there was a ' good attendance of buyers, and for the | time of the year good prices were : realised :-—Dairy cows early caivers £i\ 10s to £lO, later caivers £5 to £6 j as, very late, and empty £3 2s to £4 ; 15s, pedigree Jersey bull liH guineas, 1 pedigree Jersey cows 17 to 20Agns, ; grade Jersey heifers .t'4 19s to £5 2s j tid, weaner heifers 27s to to 3b's, large £ls, jacks £4 5s to £4 15s, store pigs 20s to 27s t'.d, small pigs 7s to 13s. Sundries sold well. [ At Haymarket on Saturday, a good i number of "pigs were penned, slips | madeo 2s to -Is b'd, weaners 7s to 10s, stores 15s to Ills, small stores lis to Ms, porkers 26s to 30s, sows £2 2s. At Urenui on Monday there was a good yarding. Weaners made 15s b'J to 33s tid, is month steers £3 lis, store cows £2 to £3 ss, forward cows £4 7s, cows and calves £3 Ills to £5 10s, heifers calved £5 10s, fat heifers £6, 2h to 3 year steers £4 ISs (id, bulls £3 17s tid to .t'4 15s. On the same day I sold the balance of Mr 3 McGuinness' stock, without reserve. Two year steers made £4 14h, 2k year steers £5, 3 to 3:; year bullocks £5 lis to £5 13s (id, lambs 3s 3d, 2 and 4 tooth ewos 12s 2d, t> tooth to i'.f.m. ewes ijs 9d, 2 tooth wethers 10s 2d, rams .1 guinea. At Douglas on the same day weaners made U'>3 to 20s, weaner heifers 30s b'd, store cows £2 Ids to £3 13s, forward cows £4 -Is, fat heifers £fi t>s, springing heifers £5, bulls £4 4s (id to £4 95," lambs -Is 9d to 7s 2d, f.m. ewes ss. At Stratford on Tuesday weaners j made 15s to 25s b'd, 15 month heifers j £2 14s, store cows £2 13s to £3 19s, j forward cows £4 Is to £'4 12s tid, fat cows £ 5 15s. in call* heifers £5 Ss 6d, Holstein heifers £5 ISs b'd, 2 to 2£ year steers £4 lis, bull £5 9s. At Stony River on Wednesday, the yards were full. There was a large attendance, and competition was good for most lines. Weak calves made 12s, medium to good 20s to 30s, a line of well-bred Jersey heifer calves made £3 17s Gd, 18 month to 2 year heifers in calf £3 10s to £4 ss, 2h year heifers in calf £4 16s 6d, springing heifers £5 to £5 7s, working bullocks £ls 10s per pair, store cows £2 4s to £2 lis 6d, forward cows £3 10s to £4 9s, fat cows £5 to £5 ss, bulls £4 3s to £5 8s 6d. The goodwill of the late Mr Benjamin Grav's farm, of 114 acres was sold to Mr *W. Grant, of Punio at £BOO. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual combined stock sale in the Pio Pio yards. A big yarding of cattle came forward, and a very fair number of sheep. There was a large attendance, and buyers were present from the Waikato and other districts. We yarded some 100 cattle and 200 sheep, all of which were disposed of either under the hammer or after the sale. Prices: 2£ to 3 year steers £5 Is, forward empty heifers £4 17s Gd, IS month steers £3 ss, springing heifers £5 to £6 7s 6d, 2 tooth ewes in lamb lis.
