AMERICAN SUSCEPTIBILITIES. By Telegraph.—i'res; Association.—Copyright Received May 2, 11.45 p.m. Ottawa, Yesterday. The proposal to omit the Battle of Chatenguay from the Empire Festival celebrations in London, for fear of wounding American susceptibilities was mentioned in the House of Commons to-day. Members complained that Americans did not usually consider others in their own celebrations. Sir Wilfrid Laurier explained he was powerless in the matter.
