MAWSON EXPEDITION.
STATE CONTRIBUTION ASKED. I3y Telegraph.—Press Association.— Copyright Received May 2, 9.20 p.m. Melbourne, Last Night. A deputation asked Mr Hughes for a contribution of £20,000, half the cost of the Mawson Expedition. He replied sympathetically, and said that the Cabinet was considering the application.
