PASSENGERS ON GOODS TRAINS.
THREE MONTHS' TRIAL. By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister for Railways informs Mr Jennings, M.P., that a passenger car will be attached to the goods train passing through Te Kuiti at 11.10 a.m. for the south and at 8.50 p.m. for the north. The trains being goods trains only, no alteration can be made in their speed. "The car is being attached to give a convenience to persons making short journeys, and who are prepared to travel on slow trains. The position will be reviewed at the end of three months, and the continuation of the cars will depend on the extent to which they are used. Only second-class passengers will be carried. The new service commences on Monday next.
