<* The Farmers' Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: - We held a clearing sale at Mangawhero, Matamata, on Wednesday, 26th ult., on account of Mr Follett. The dairy herd, being backward in condition, did not meet with a ready sale, consequently prices were low. The herd of 31 cows averaged £4 13s 9d, best cows making up to £6 15s. On Thursday, 27th, we held a clearing sale at Waharoa on account of Mr John Finnerly. There was a large attendance and brisk bidding. The dairy herd of 20 cows averaged £6 4s, four choice heifers in calf, £6 15s, medium draught mare £3O, buggy mare £l4 10s, the furniture and implements made the usual prices. We held a clearing sale on Thursday, 27th, at Ohaupo, on account of Mr F. Findsen. There was a large attendance. The dairy herd, being a choice one, elicited keen compeition, the 30 cows averaging £7, the best making £7 15s to £9, waggon £32, mower £ls, hoggets 10i, sundries at usual prices. We held our reguar monthly sale at Cambridge, on Friday, 28th, when we yarded 250 head cattle. Small fat steers made £6, fat cows £<3 Is to £6 183, lighter sorts £5 to £3 12s 6d, store cows 35s to £2 10s, calve 3 37 s (3d to £2, weaner pigs 7s to 93. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: At Hamilton on Thursday, 27th ult., we had a medium yarding of cattle and few sheep. Prices: Fat cows £b (is to £6, forward cows £4 5s to £4 12s 6d, three to 3J year steers £5 15s to £6 15s, 18 month steers £2 13s to £2 16s, store cows £2 10s to £3 Gs, calves £1 6s 6d to £1 7s (sd; Jersey heifer calves on account of Mr A. E. Belcher 2i to 4 guineas, bull calves 2 to 3 guineas; fat ewes 14s. At Te Anga on Friday 2Stb, our yarding consisted of sheep only, and on account of heavy rains and flooded creeks, several lints did not come forward. There was not much competition at auction, seilers expecting Waikato priced, but a good deal of business was done privately afterwards, in fact almost a total clearance was eltVcted. Prices: -1 tooth ewes been with rams its ud to 14s, 2 tooth to full cumth ewes 10s, fat ewes 14:', shorn iambs os 7d; buyers present would have operated largely in wethers if these had more condition.
