A MODERN "DICK TURPIN."
To The Editor. Sir, —In fairness to the motorists who 'made such a disastrous trip from Taranalci to Te Kuiti recently, I feel a little further information should bo published in your columns. After the accident had occurred to Mrs Old and myself, both the occupants of the car showed much consideration and kindness. Their car was put at our disposal, and the gentleman driving, conveyed us to Mr Old's residence. The lady was most sympathetc, and showed very real concern for our condition. Whatever we may feel to have been | the cause of the accident, the fact j remains that these people did not pass ; oti and leave us in the heartless manj ner suggested. lam quite sure that ! the lady motorist is as regretful as ! Mrs Old's many friends are, that the | accident has been attended with such ; serious coneqnences for her. Thank- ; ing you in anticipation,—l am, etc., | GERTEU DE M. CASTLES. I Mahoenui, April 10th.
