Pio Pio.
The house built by Mr J. Mclndoe for the directors of the Pio Pio Dairy Company is now occupied by MrTnnnicliffe the manager of the factory. The house which is close to the facj tory is a decided improvement to the j township. [ Mr W. T. Asplin is getting the timj her on the ground for his new black- ! smith's shop and intends starting the I building forthwith. Mr Gleadow's i blacksmith shop is just about completed. The present dry weather has had a considerable effcet on the supply at the factory, though the supply is keeping up as well as can be expected, the factory is only working every other day. It is expected that there will be a large increase next year in the numbers of cows milked for the factory. Settlers are disgusted at the work being stopped on the main road, and consider that where deviations have been made and not metalled, the traffic will be unable to get through in the winter. The School Committee are anxiously waiting to see tenders called for the erection of the Pio Pio school. There are now fifty-three children on the roll.
