BIG BUSH FIRES.

[BY TKLIOiBAI'H.— I'BKSS ASSOCIATION*.] Pahiatua, This Day. Fires are raging in Akitio County. A strong westerly breeze was blowing on Monday evening, and made them spread rapidly. Almost all the country between the summit of thePuketoi Ranges near Mt. Stykes to the Puketoi district is a mass of flames. Loss of property is also reported from Mangatiti. A whare was burnt down yesterday afternoon. The mailman could not get through, and the telegraph line from Mangatiti to Makuri is down. The residence of Mr W. Bailey on the Range road has been destroyed, and Mr T. Stone's at the Cross roads was in danger. The old Coonoor creamery belonging to Mr S. Bolton, was also destroyed.
