DEATHS FROM DYSENTERY
The sympathies of all in Otorohanga and the lower King Country generally will go out to Mr and Mrs W. J. Piggot in the sad losses they have sustained by the death of their two little children—Dorothy, aged nearly three, and Roy, nearly five. Mrs Piggot and the family of four children only arrived in Otorohanga a fortnight ago from the north of Auckland, and Mr Piggot himself was still in the north when the news of the serious illness of the children reached him. He travelled home, and reached there last Wednesday to find that the youngest child, Dorothy, had succumbed on the previous day. Little Roy died on Saturday last, and was buried on Sunday. The other two children are now recovering, and doing as well as can be expected. The cause of the deaths was dysentery, unfortunately very prevalent at this abnormally dry season. Mr Piggot, as is well-known, has just been appointed curate for this district, and works in conjunction with the Rev. E. S. Wayne, being stationed at Otorohanga. He is to be ordained by the Bishop of Waiupu at Napier on April 23rd.
