We quote: New Zealand butter luii, Danish 1 -Is, finest Australian salted 100s, iinest Australian unsalted 10 Is; many brands inferior qualities diilietilt of sale. Cheese, steady, o'J jilt cwt higher. It may interest you to learn that the shipments of Australian butter to London, season PJIO-11, to loth March are: Victoria 18,115 tons, New South Wales 10,507 tons Queensland 5,934 tons, South Australian 1,744 tons; aggregate, 30,30'J tons. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report a3 follows:—We held our usual monthly sale at Pio Pio on Wednesday 22nd inst., when 1000 sheep came forward, also 300 head of cattle consisting mostly of IS-month steers and heifers. Bidding for all classes of cattle was spirited up to late values. The vendors had high reserves in anticipation of rains in the near future. We, however, cleared the whole yarding directly after the sale. Sheep were very dull of sale, owing to one or two vendors accepting ridiculous prices for stock; it was a very hard matter to sell sheep at all, and few changed hands. We quote: Steers 3 year old £5 10s, IS-month steers £3 lis (id to £3 12s 6d, 2 year old steers £4 ss, yearling steers £3. Or, Thursday, 23rd inst, we held our usual Hamilton sale, when a fair yarding of sheep and a good yarding of cattle came forward. There was very little demand for fat sheep or bullock's, but fat and store cows, iieshy bulls and pigs sold briskly. In the Cambridge yards on Friday, 21th inst., we hold our usual monthly sale, when o 1 '" 1 bead of cattle and a tew sheep came forward. There was a good attendance and bidding was verv brisk throughout the sale, and satisfactory prices were realised. We quote : Fmpty cows and heifers ,SM to c 1 lis, heifers in calf up to X"> 49, steers IS month to 2 year £:> to £o 10s, yearlings £2 Ids, calves from 20s to oh;, .springers £o. The Farmers' Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:- At Ohaupo on Tuesday the entry consisted of oIK) sheep and hUo cattle. Store lambs made O's and 200 ewes from :'-tooth to fresh fulltiuuith lis. The. cattle consisted chicliy of calves, and these were dull of sale and only a few' were disposed of. Two pens of forward steers made £i; IDs and 117 Ts (Id, and ;>.'! fresh 2 to 'F.-year steers A-t 7s (id. A few choice springing heifers made .£-1 lGs to XI lis l">d, la-month steers X-'> os, good calves ."2s (id to d'.ls. At !'io Pio, on Wednesday, the combined stock sale took place at the Sale Yards Company's property. The entry was a very large one, and t'ns : accommodation was inadequate, consequently a large number of stock had to be held on roads by owners, and were offered there; notwithstanding this, a great deal of business was done; cattle sold at full Waikato rates, but sheep! were very low, and some very good bargains were to be had.
