ENTERTAINMENTS.
EMPIRE PICTURES. Last Monday's Empire Pictures at the Town Hal! were, if anything, above the excellent average this wellknown and reliable company shows. We were treated to one of the finest exhibitions oi cowboy life in "Ranch life in the great. South" that has ever been shown, and, (o see toe la.-.soomg of steers and the reckless daredevil cowboys tackling and throwing bullocks by hand was worth going some distance to view. "Fishing with cormorants" was, a clever film, rea'isinc .the voracious habits of those greedy birds perfectly. "The Fjords of Norway," giving those beautiful stretches of land-dock cd water, were delightful, and .'.lie midnight sun was realistic and impressive. The London Anarchists film was not particularly clear, dv.v, doubtless, to the ditlicult conditions under which it was taken. Altogether, Monday night's show was one of the very tinest. we have seen, and gave evidence of the determination of the management to only ahovv the iiest. The prices have now been reduced to Is lid for front seats with ladies Is t.u all parts. Tins should assure a permanent popularity for one of the cleanest and brightest entertainments on tour.
