PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

Matters respecting the erection of a Presbyterian Church in Te Kuiti have advanced another and very definite stage. On Tuesday evening a successful and representavive meeting of the Church Committee was held at which the Revs. -T. Gow, of Hamilton, and W. Woollass, of Te Awamutu, were also present. The Rev. Woollass presided over the gathering, and notified the Committee that a substantial loan had been satisfactorily arranged for, and that the erection of the Church could be proceeded with very shortly. The committee then resolved to confirm the actions of Rev. Woollass and to proceed with the calling of tenders, the matter to be left in the hands of Mr Daniell, architect, of Hamilton. There is every prospect that within a very short time a very handsome and comfortable edifice will grace the main street of Te Kuiti, and become the centre of many good inlluences. According to the plans, accommodation for about 200 people is being made, and the- genera! appearance of the structure will be, not only a credit to Presbyterianism, but also an asset to the town, Opportunity was taken by Rev. Woollass, Moderator of the Waikato Presbytery, to express warm appreciation of the energetic and acceptable services of Mr Jacobsen, in his labours for the church in this town, and to wish him, on behalf of the Presbytery and Church, every success in his studies in Dunedin. The Rev. A. Armstrong was also present at the meeting, and was welcomed to his new sphere of labours, and every hope for the prosperity of the work under his direction was expressed. The Rev. A. Armstrong will commence his ministry in Te Kuiti by preaching next Sunday evening, bis subject being "The Man and | His Message."
