At Waiwakaiho on the 16th inst. there was a full yarding, though competition was not so keen as at the previous sale. Wearier heifers made 27s to £2 Is, weaner steers 24s to 365, weaner heifers (Jersey strain) £2 2s Gd, 15 to IS months heifers £3 16s 6d, 2 to 2* year heifers r.w.b. €3 9s 6d to £4 7s, springing heifers £5 7s 5d to £5 16s, 2 year steers £3 9s 6d to £3 15s Gd, store cows £2 2s to £3 ss, forward cows £3 15s to £4 17s Gd, fat cows £5 6s to £6 4s, bulls £4 to £6. At the Haymarket on Saturday but few pigs entered. Weaners brought up to lis, stores 17s (id to 21s, small stores 12s lid to 15s.
A quantity of second-class timber sold at satisfactory prices at Urenui on Monday. Weaners made 16s to 28s, weaner Jersey heifers £2 lis, 15 months heifers £2 Is 6d to £3 15s. yearling to 18 months steres £2 Iss to £3 ss, IS to 20 month steers £3 10s Gd to £3 15s, store cows £2 17s to £3 ISs, forward cows £4 to £4 15s 6d, fat cows £5 Ss to £5 lis 6d, 3 year steers £5 Is to £5 ss, heifers in calf £4 ss, springing heifers £3 5s to £4 17s Gd, bulls £2 13s Gd to £6 10s 6d, lambs 6s 2d. At Stratford on Tuesday there was a full yarding. Weaners made 23s Gd to 335, 15 to IS months steers £2 lis to £3 Ss, 15 months heifers £2 15s to £3 10s, store cows £2 ISs to £3 13s (id, forward cows £4 5s to £4 13s, fat cows £4 17s Gd to £5 Ss, 2 year steers £3 17s to £4 ss, bulls £4 Gs to £7 7s Gd. At Stony River on Wednesday weaners made 2fis to 37s Gd, small weaners 16s Gd to 22s 6d, IS months steers good quality £3 13s Gd, store cows 31s Gd to £3 14s, forward cows £4 5s to £4 16s, fat cows £4 18s to £5 ss, stags £5, old workers £2 5s Gd, bulls £3 10s to £7 7s Gd.
