ENTERTAINMENTS.
EMPIRE PICTURE COMPANY. The performance given by the above company at Te Kuiti on Monday evening last was, as usual, much enjoyed by the large audience present. These exhibitions are looked forward to by a large section of the community, and "picture night" has become quite an institution here. The new programme to be put on next Monday is advertised to-day in another column, and is certainly a startling one. The great Houndsditch Fight that took place in London a few weeks ago, in which over 400 armed policemen and half a company of Guards took part, will be one of the main attractions. Another will be a great picture of Ranch Life in the South-West, in which wonderful exhibitions of riding wild horses, bullocks, throwing and roping steers, etc., will be shown. This picture is said to be one of the finest of its kind ever seen in New Zealand. Other subjects, including scenic pictures, comics, drama, and educational ones, will also be screened.
