Ohura.
Mr Murray Government road engineer, paid a visit to the district last week. He said that it was his intention to put all roatl work in hand at once. Show matters am going along well, and if is expected that the new society's venture will be a great success. All interested are working hard and arrangements a:e well in hand. It is anticipated that good entries will be received not only from local farmers, but from outside sources. Waikaha settlers have scarcely had their dues considering that they have been settled on their land for ! over six years. They have no outlet of any kind. Two miles of road are required to give them reasonable : access and surely after six years of ■ pioneering they am deserving of i bettor treatment. Another matter of grave importance I is the road on the Mokau-Ohura road between Mangakuihikatea and Waikaka, a distance of three and a half miles, tor which not one penny has iieeai voted. This is an important | road and is the main stock route \ between Ohura. and Te Kuiti. I A large number of land sales are taking place and quite a few of the I old hands will he taking their depar- ! ttire. The majority of the ne v j settlers are hailing from the Wairaj nipa district.
