|_Hl PEIOS ASS'.MIATION.] Wellington, This Day. A man, believed to be J. Briggs, keeper of the hulk Oreti, was drowned at the wharf iast night. How he came to be in the water is unknown. A woman's scream attracted the attention of the wharf officials last evening, who heard calls from the water, but whilst a poie and lifebuoy were being procured the cries ceased.
