PREMIER AT PUKEKOHE.
[iiv tki,ki;hapu.—-prkss association.] Pukekohe, This Day.
Sir Joseph Ward addressed a crowded meeting here last evening, and dealt exhaustively with the Land Settlement Finance Act. He claimed that by cheapening money the Government had saved many settlers from ruin, and enabled them to obtain homes for themselves. He also spoke at length regarding the benefits the Dominion derived from the British navy. Regarding the North v. South controversy the Premier said during the term of his administration three millions more had been spent on public works in the North Island than in the South Island. Sir Joseph Ward was accorded a hearty vote of thanks and confidence, and cheers were given.
