SALES IN SMALL AMOUNTS. By Telesrraph.—Press Association.—Covyri?iU Received Jar.uary 27, 10 p.m. London, Yesterday. One hundred and sixty-four thousand savings bank depositors hold £23,000,000 worth of Consols. At many bank meetings in London and the provinces discussion took place on the depreciation of consols and speakers favoured popularising this security. Lord St. Aldwyn, presiding at the London Joint Stock Bank meeting, favoured £5 bonds issuable through the post offices.
