General Botha's sister, now in England, states that South African women will tremble with fear at the consequences of Lord Gladstone's reprieve of a Rhodesian native. Such crimes, she said, were more common than the English public were aware. (The native referred to had been sentenced to death for entering the house of a white woman at night and committing a foul crime.)
