PENSIONS IN FRANCE.

The debate in the Chamber of Deputies on the Workmen's Pensions Bill showed that twelve million persons would benefit. Contributions would be obligatory for both men and women earning below £l2O a year, but pensions, supplemented by a State grant, could be secured by those earning below .£2OO, or the wives of men making voluntary deposits.
