THREE MEN DROWNED.
RESCUERS LOSE THEIR LIVE. Brisbane, Monday. The bodies of three firemen Hill, Saddler, and Martin belonging to the steamer Yv'aipawn, have been found in the rivt-r. How they were drowned is a mystery. They were seen about the town daring the day and afterwards disappeared. Brisbane, Yesterday. The three n,cn who were drowned boarded the steamer Manila instead of the Waipawa. They were directed to the proper wharf, and made towards the water. Kill walked straight in, and Martin went to his assistance. Saddler subsequently went after the others, and all were struggling together in deep water. Dunn, a man from another steamer, plunged in, bat the men pulled him under, and, almost drowning, he had to struggle to free himself. The others sank, and when recovered, the bodies were locked together.
