FIRE AT NAPIER.

[! 1V TKLKMIAI'U. —I'RKS.S ASSOCIATION".] Napier, This Day.

There were all the elements of a big blaze in the centre of the town last night, the fire starting in a plumbing company's premises, next the City Buffet in Emerson street. Delay in giving an alarm at the fire station was responsible for the late appearance of the brigade, and the structure was a mass of flames when the water was turned on. Splendid work, however, was done by the brigade, which soon got the upper hand. The work shop was gutted. The insurances on the building are £l5O in the Norwich Union office, and the contents £l2O with the North British Insurance Company.
