TE KUITI RACING CLUB.
An event of considerable importance to the follower:? of sport in Te Kuiti will lake place on Thursday iioxt, 26th inst.. whon To Knili lacing Club will bold their lirt annual meeting at | their new course at Te Kumi. Duri ins f-- 1 '- ' as t t" ew months the Club has I been put to a considerable expense in ; connection with the course and has I now succeeded in getting it sufficient- ! ly near completion to permit of a very enjoyable meeting being held on it. The principal events are the Te Kuiti Cup, of £4O, and Rohe Potae Stakes, of £25. Excellent acceptances have been received for all events, and a really good day's sport is anticipated. As Te Kuiti Racing Club's prospects of obtaining a totalisator permit must depend to a large extent on the result of the forthcoming meeting, it is hoped that the residents of Te Kuiti and the district will turn out in full force and make the meeting an unqualified success. Special train arrangements have been made for the convenience of visitors and these are advertised in another column.
