. $ THE DOOM OF THE CAMPERS. TO MOVE WITHIN A MONTH. A discussion at Monday night's ! meeting of Te Kuiti Borough Council, arising out of the foreman's report, j led in a direction few Councillors tak- ■ ing pari imagined it would do, The i final result was a unanimous vote of the Council that a!! occupants of tents ! and other erections on the Esplanade : and other borough reserves, be given one month's notice to qu;t. The foreman made his usual monthly report referring to cleaning out water■j tables, cutting blackberries, etc., arid 1 added: "Owing to the quantity of 1 tins, rubbish, etc., on the river banks, i particularly from King street bridge to Rora street, I have been unable to ; remove the growths—as effectually as they should be done. Nuisances are being regularly committed there, : but I have been unable to catch anyone in the act. The willows in the river from the school boundary to the J bridge in King street qre growing ! very fast, and will be blocking up | the passages of the river. If they stopped camping on borough reserves now they nipped it in the bud. The Mayer said the suggestion of Cr Somerville was the most important one made.
