MIXED MARRIAGES
By Telegraph.- Press Association.—Copyright Received January 6, 10.25 p.m. London, Yesterday. Six thousand Protestants in Belfast have demonstrated against the Papal decree on mixed marriages. The Moderator of the General Assembly, presiding, said they did not object to the Church of Rome legislating in its own sphere for the guidance of its own members, but they strenuously protested against the Papacy imposing its law upon Protestants. The meeting resolved that the decree, in a community like Ireland's, would increase the cleavage between Portcstants and Catholics. Irish Unionist M.P's. have been requested to move thus, ancnt an amendment I? the Address on the opening of Parliament.
