Inquiries at the Marino Department have elicited the statement that the training ship Amokura visited Auckland Islands about three weeks ago, and as this is the third time the Aucklands have been visited since the Duco was lost, it is unlikely any reliance can be placed on the bottle message picked up at Southbridge yesterday, stating there were seven Duco survivors on the Islands.
