Our readers will learn with regret of the serious illness o! Mrs E. C. Stanley, of Marakopa, which is causing a great deal of anxiety to her ft "lends and family. Dr Zobel, of Te Kuiti, was called in to consult with Dr C. Campbell Jenkins, who had been in attendance, and it was decided to remove Mrs Stanley to Auckland, in view of a possible operation. Fine weather enabled the s.s. Rothesay to bring the patient safely to Kawhia, and, accompanied by Mr Stanley, Drs Jenkins and Zobel, sbe was a passenger by the Claymore last Friday morning; to Auckland, where she was placed tinder the care of Dr Savage.

An interesting but quiet wedding took place at Bishopscourt, Parnell, on Tuesday, when Miss MaSvene Price, daughter of Mr William Price, of 1 Rowallvn, Mount Eden, was married : to Mr Vincent W. N. Lorigan, of Te ! Kuiti. The bride was attended by 1 her sister, Miss Beatrice Price, and Mr G. S Otway was best man and Mr Athol Price groomsman.
