TE KUITI RACING CLUB.

The annual meeting of Te Kuiti Racing Club was held last evening there being a good attendance. The committee's report and balance sheet were read and adopted. The report, in referring to the work of the past year, emphasised the gratifying fact that the course was now almost in order for racing, and would be competed by a little levelling, filling and draining, estimated to cost about £45. It was hoped to hold a meeting on the course late in January before the new Gaming Act came into force so that the club would have the advantage of the bookmakers' fees. Strong representations had been made to Wellington asking that the club should receive consideration when the totalisator permits came to be allotted, and the committee had hopes of being successful in obtaining a permit provided the meeting to be held next month proved a success.

Several new members were elected. The following officers were then elected for the ensuing year:— Patron, Mr W. T. Jennings, M.P.; president, Major Lusk; vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. T. Hetet, Hardy, R. Cotter, Foy and Iredale; committee, Messrs Falwasser, N. B. Lusk, N. C. Matthew, A. D. McCardle, Wallace, Thorp, V. A. McCardle, Mussen, and C. Eriksson; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. F. Howarth; auditor, Mr E. J. Thomson.

After the general meeting a committee meeting was held, and the following officer-bearers were elected in connection with the forthcoming race meeting: Judge, Mr R. B. Lusk; handicapper, Mr R. Wynyard; clerk of course, Mr Fryer; clerk of scales, Mr Thorpe; timekeeper, Mr p, J. Quirk; stewards, Messrs Foy, C. J. Kirk, Darrow, Falwasser, F. Vercoe, !N. B. Lusk, A. D. McCardle, Geo. Otway and W. Pettit. It was decided that in the event of the course being completed the meeting would be held at Te Kuiti on January 26th, 1911. The following programme was approved of: —Maiden Handicap, £10; Handicap Trot, £ls; Te Kuiti Cup, £4O; Rohe Potae Stakes, £25; Hack Race. £10; Welter Handicap, £35; Handicap Trot, £ls; making a totai of £l3O. A sub-nommittee was appointed to attend to the completion and advertising of the programme and the completion of the course.
