HOTELS CLOSE XMAS DAY.
[BY TKLKCKAPH. —PRKSS ASSOCIATION*.] Wellington, This Day. Legal opinion having been obtained in Dunedin that hotels must close on December 26th, the day on which Christmas Day is to be observed, the question was referred to Mr Findlay, who agreed with the view. Hon. Mr Findlay also stated that universal ten o'clock closing will operate after June 30th, when the existing eleven o'clock licenses terminate.
