When the claims of the Merchant Service Guild were further heard at the Arbitration Court a suggestion had been made regarding the parties coming to terms. The judge asked to have the suggestions put in writing and he would then meet both sides. Evidence on the cost of living was proceeded with and it was shown that rents were enormously cheaper in England than in Australia.
