Own Correspondents Pio Pio.

A cricket match was played here on the 2nd inst., in Mr Hattaway's paddock, between two teams selected by Messrs Wallace and Tunnicliffe, the former's team winning rather easily. The top scorers for Wallace's team were Brown 9, and Wilson 5, and for the latter's G. Elliott 13, retired, and H. Smith 20, retired. The latter's team played good cricket, no wickets being down when the required number of runs were made. A very enjoyable afternoon was spent and the cricket committee wish to thank the ladies of Pio Pio for their hospitality during the interval in the match. According to the enthusiasm shown, the newly-formed club has every reason to anticipate a very successful season.
