CONGREGATIONAL SUNDAY SCHOOL.

Anniversary Service. The third anniversary of the above school was held on Sunday last and was largely attended. The Rev. W. Day, of Auckland, occupied the pulpit at the morning, afternoon and evening services, when he gave very suggestive and helpful addresses to large congregations. The celebrations were continued on Monday evening when the annual Sunday School social was held and at which a good number of parents and friends were present. The chair was filled by Mr J. Boddie, Mayor ol Te Kuiti, who most ably fulfilled his dutie3. Suitable addresses were given by Revs. J. V. •Jacobson, W. Day, R. Mitchell and T. W. Potts. The general prizes won by the children were presented by Rev. W. Day, and special prizes by Rev. R. Mitchell. The annual reports by the secretary and treasurer showed a most satisfactory advance in the work of the school, the attendances of teachers and scholars being higher than the previous year, and the work of the children proved more thorough than formerly. The finances revealed a pleasing increase for the year. A j happy innovation was introcljced by | the chairman, who prompted the chil- | dren to formally move and second votes of thanks to the officers and teachers of the school for their self-sacrificing work. Kindly reference was made to the loss the church and school sustains in the departure of Mr and Mrs Harnet and fShiily and Mr Harvey from Te Kuiti, and to their loyalty and service. A special feature of the anniversary was the singing of the children, which was marked by precision and heartiness. Mr Nicholson kindly served as conductor, and Mr 3 Potts at the organ. The generous gifts of the friends enabled the teachers to dispense abundant hospitality to the audience during the evening. The superintendent and officers deserve the thanks of the parents for their year's work', and are to be heartily congratulated upon such a successful and happy termination to the activities of the school year.
