WORKERS' DWELLINGS BILL.
e—© - TO KEEP DOWN RENTS.
It is hoped to introduce the Workers' Dwellings Bill in the House of Representatives in a few d-iys. In a Ministerial reply given to a question on Wednesday it was stated that un:lcr the provisions of the Bill great facilities will be given for workers to obtain dwellings, including that by which a dwelling can be built to suit the purchaser on payment of a deposit of £lO, the balance to be payable in easy instalments spread over a period of 25 £ years. The provisions of the Workers' Dwellings Act, and also the Advances to Settlers and Workers Act, should, the Government thinks, do a great deal towards keeping rent generally down to a reasonable level.
