Paemako.

We are now experiencing lovely weather and everything is looking at its best. There is promise of a very prosperous year for all the settlers. The young grass is now showing well and the lambs that are in evidence seem to be in a very forward condition. Flock-masters have every reason to be gratified at the excellent "percentages obtained from lambing this season and all accounts to hand indicate that the percentages eclipse all previous records, ranging from 110 to 130.

There is now a splendid growth of grass, and whatever tardiness there was in the early spring has been dispelled by a week's warm, but heavy, showers, and . big intervals of sunshine.

Influenza has been very severe in the Paemako district, and some of the settlers are still suffering from that complaint. The cream cart is running this month three times a week to the factory, and in November it will be running every day. Our popular schoolmaster, Mr Funke, is very hard at work preparing his pupils for their annual examination, which takes place next week, and also for their annual concert and dance, which takes place soon after.
