COTTON DISPUTE.

CONFERENCE AGREED TO. London, Yesterday. The cotton operatives have demanded that Howe be found work at another mill. The employers have replied that they would recommend the mill-owners to give Howe the first vacancy. The operatives replied that they must insist on his employment as a preliminary to arbitration.

Mr Asquith also suggests the appointment of a conference prior to arbitration, to discuss the powers under the Brooklands decision, to alter working conditions. The operatives agree to this.
