The Farmers' Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports:—■ At Ohaupo, on August 23rd, the entry comprised 1300 sheep, 62 pigs, 70 dairy cows and heifers, and 405 store cattle. Sheep were not required, and only about 500 were sold. Empty ewes and store wethers, mixed, sold at 13s 6d, small hoggets lis, fair hoggets 12s, small fat wethers 16s, fat ewes 14s 6d, ewes in lamb 12s to 12s 6d, weaner pigs 12s 6d to 16s, slips 16s 6d to 19s, sows £2 10s to £3, best dairy cows £6 to £B, more backward sorts £5 to £5 10s, heifers £5 5s to £6 15s, fresh 3£ year steers off turnips £6 ss, store 4 year steers £5 17s, 2\ year steers £4 16s, 15 month steers £3 to £3 6s, empty cows and heifers £3 5s to £3 12s 6d, poor yearling steers £2 Is. At Matamata on August 24th, we had an entry of 200 store cattle, 153 dairy cows and heifers, 40 pigs, 60 hoggets, and a large collection of trees, sundries, horses, etc. Weaner pigs lis to 13s, slips 15s to 24s 6d, porkers 28s, hoggets 14s 6d, small fat steers £7 7s 6d, fat cows and heifers £5 12s to £6 13s, good yearling steers £2 10s to £2 17s 6d, younger and smaller cattle 35s to 40s, store cows £3 to £3 7s 6d, empty 2 year heifers £3 3s to £3 12s 6d, best dairy cows and heifers £5 15s to £8 15s, others £4 15s to £5 10s, best cows £8 to £9 10s, others £5 5s to £6, milk waggon £l9, medium draught mare £25 10s, fruit trees, sundries, etc., at usual rates. At Hamilton sale, on August 25th, the yarding was 325 sheep, 134 pigs, 94 fat cattle, 353 store cattle, 160 dairy cows and heifers. Fat wethers made 19s to 24s 3d, extra prime shorn hoggets, Romneys, 23s 6d, fat ewes 16s 6d, fat hoggets 14s to 17s, store hoggets 10s 9d to lis 3d, weaner pigs lis to 13s. slips 17s to 225, porkers 26s to 345, heavy fat steers £ll, small to medium weights steers £7 19s to £9, well fattened cows £6 to £7, lighter weights £4 13s to £5 17s 6d, store 3 year steers £5 4s to £5 14s, 2| year steers £4 10s to £4 14s, 2 year steers £3 17s, fresh empty cows £3 15s to £4 7s 6d, store cows £2 10s to £3 ss, yearlings 40s to 455, smaller and younger cattle 30s to 355, best dairy cows £6 15s to £9 10s, others £5 to £6, best heifers £5 15s to £7 10s, others £4 to £5. At the Waihou sale, on 26th August, we yarded 468 sheep, 86 pigs, 69 dairy cows and heifer-? and 46 store cattle. There was good competition with prices fully up to ruling rates, and all sold. Fat wethers made 23s to 245, small fresh wethers 15s 3d, fat ewes 13s 2d to 14s 4d, fat hoggets 15s, store hoggets lis 9d, weaner pigs 8s to 14s 6d, slips 16s 6d to 21s 6d, fat steers £7 9s to £S 19s, well fattened cows and heifers £6 to £7, lighter sorts £5 to £5 10s, bulls £3 10s to £5 10s, six Jersey cross cows and heifers made from £7 to £l3 10s, best dairy heifers £6 10s to £8 15s, others £5 to £6, cows £5 5s to £6,. store 2| year steers £4 10s to £4 14s, 2 year steers £3 17s 6d to £4 3s, 18 months steers £3 7s to £3 10s, good yearling steers to £2 19s, mixed yearlings not so well done and small 30s to 37s 6d, 2 year empty heifers £3 3s to £3 15s, store and cull dairy cows £3 5s to £3 15s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— We held a stock sale at Te Kuiti on Wednesday, August 31st, and yarded 500 head of well-bred cattle and 450 sheep. Buyers were in attendance from the surrounding districts and Waikato, and all lines were quitted at the hammer and afterwards with the exception of two pens of poor yearlings. Two year steers made from £4 2s to £4 10s, 18 month do. £3 lis, choice yearlings, mixed £2 14s to £3 Is, smaller sorts £2 3s to £2 9s, yearling heifers £2 3s, fat wethers 22s 6d to 245, store do. 15s 6d, hoggets lis 6d to 13s Id.
