Hetet, junr. and T. Searancke; treasurer, Mr G. P. Finlay. As the season is so short the subscription was fixed at 3s. It was resolved that the colours of the club be red, white and blue, with huia badge. Mr J. T. Hetet thanked the meeting for electing him patron. It was resolved to write to the secretary of Taumarunui Club to arrange a match for the 10th September, to be played either here or at Taumarunui. It was resolved that the name of club be called Te Kuiti Huia Club. It was decided that the secretary be instructed to write to the secretary of the Northern Union League in Auckland for .fifty rule books. A vote of thanks to the chairman concludad one of the most enthusiastic meetings yet held in Te Kuiti. A pleasing feature in connection with the establishment of this branch of the league was the manner in which subscriptions were handed in, the result being that the Huia Club plays its first match with a good sum of money in hand. —Contributed.

To the Editor. Sir, —I have this morning recieved from the secretary of the newly-organ-ised Te Kuiti professional football club an intimation that I have been elected a vice-president of the club. Needless to say, I immediately refused the tempting invitation, but as I understand that the report has been freely circulated that I am connected with the club, I wish to take the opportunity of giving it a public denial. I also desire emphatically to protest against the Club's action in using my name without authority, as being interested in an association any connection with which I could only regard as being to my discredit. —I am, etc., A. F. HOWARTH, Vice-presid?nt M.R.U.
