Maniapoto Rugby Union.

A meeting of the above union was held in Mr Falwasser's office last evening. Mr Howarth was voted to the chair. The King Country Union wrote asking the Maniapoto Union to play a return match on Saturday, 17th September, the seniors at Te Kuiti and the juniors at Taumarunui. —It was resolved that this date be accepted, and that Messrs H. Poutawera, D. Gray, Eveleigh and the secretary be appointed a committee to arrange the junior match at Taumarunui, and that they select flie junior team forthwith. A letter was received from the Ruapehu Rugby Union, asking for a match at Ohakune. It was decided that a reply be sent stating that the Maniapoto Rugby Union could not travel this season to Ohakune, but would play them a match at Te Kuiti. A letter was received from the Hamilton Rugby Union, stating that they could not get sufficient, men to travel to play the return match at Te Kuiti. —It was resolved that "as the Hamilton Union could not find sufficient men a combined Waikato team should be brought." Resolved that application be made for the Domain ground for September 10th and 17th, and that the charge of Is be made for admission, the gate at the match Taumarunui v. Maniapoto, to be devoted to the Domain Board. It was resolved that as it had come to the knowledge of the Maniapoto Rugby Union that certain of its members were about to join the Northern League, the secretary be instructed to write to them asking whether the rumour was correct or not before the said members be disqualified. It was resolved that the names of J. B. Young and H. Vause be forwarded to the South Auckland Rugby Union for disqualification on the grounds that thsy had joined the Northern Union League. Resolved that the Married v. Single match be played on Saturday, September 10th, and that Mr G. Elliott be appointed referee. Resolved that £5 be remitted to the Otorohanga Club, being the union's portion of the cost of caps.
