Aa Mr Allen Bell is addressing farmers on Tuesday evening in Te Kuiti, it is considered advisable to defer the Farmer's Union meeting, which would have been held on that night, to another date. Miss L. James, recently of Te AvvanuHn. where she successfully carried on business, is opening, early ip September in Te Kuiti, as a scientific dressmaker and costumier. Mr W. A. Caution was appointed poundkeeper. and ranger at last night's meeting of Te Kuiti Borough Council. "I was only acting the part of peacemaker," explained a prisoner. "But you knocked the man senseless!" the magistrate pointed out. "I did," was the answer. There was no other way to get peace." Mr Bernard WoliT, of Rora and King streets, Te Kuiti, has just been appointed agent for the London and Lancashire Fire Insurance Company in this district. Iris. Mr J. R. Graham, of the Exchange sale rooms, Taupiri street, will hold the last sale of the season in fruit trees, shrubs and plants on Wednesday. They are a fine healthy lot, and will be on view at the rooms. The sale takes place at 10.30 a.m. As from September Ist Mr W. A. Cantlon advertises that he will supply pure milk at 3d per quart, he having installed the most up-to-date milking machine plant in the King Country. He hopes for a fair share of public patronage. A return presented to the House on the motion of Mr W. T. Jennings (Taumarunui) shows that during the past six years 7056 acres of Crown lands have been thrown open for selection in the Kawhia County, 38,056 in the Waitomo County, and 30,733 in the Awaldno County. Mr Allen Bell is addressing a'meeting of farmers in Hattaway's Hall, Te Kuiti, on Tuesday evening next, on the questions of home separation and the dairying industry, with special reference to the aims of the Farmers' Co-operative and Dairy Stores, Ltd. A large attendance is asked for. Mr Graham has a replace advertisement in to-day's issue, detailing the various departments of his business., Since Mr Graham opened in Te Kuiti he has had alterations and additions made to his premises, and possesses a most up-to-date saleroom and yard. We have been creditably informed that the Auckland provincial championships (athletic events) have been granted to the Te Kuiti Sports Club for their meeting to be held next March. It is needless to point out to our readers the importance of this privilege, as the meeting wili have the distinction of being the only championship meeting for the year 1910-11. Lovers of the home beautiful are reminded of the exhibition of oil painting, pastel painting, etchings, and engravings, now showing at Mr J. R. Graham's mart, Taupiri street. This is not a collection of cheap continental pot boilers, but the work of an artist of Australian and European reputation, To-night between 7.30 and 9 o'clock a gaslight display of the above will be made.
