OTOROHANGA.

The complimentary social to Mrs Holden on Wednesday evening, despite the inclemency of the weather, was held in Turner's Hall, and was well patronised, some fifty couples promenading in the Grand March. The hall was decorated to represent a large drawing room, beautifully draped with chinelle and lace curtains relieVed here and there by oil paintings, steel engravings and large mirrors with evergreens and palms.
