AEROLPANING AT RHEIMS. Paris. The Baroness Delaroche, while aeroplaning at the Rheims amateur carnival, fell from a height of fifty metres, and received injuries whcih render her recovery hopeless. M. Gaubert, a well-known aeroplanaut, while flying at Vichy, fell from a height of 240 ft. He fortunately fell into the Allier river, and escaped unhurt. Lieut. Hubert Latham, in the contest for high flying at the Rheims carnival, rose in a spiral course to a height of 4658 ft, thus beating M. Paulhan's record. For 15 minutes the 'intrepid aviator was hidden from the spectators of the carnival by clouds. ALL-BRITISH AIRSHIP. London. Lady Abdy, in a letter to the press, confirms her offer of £50,000 for the construction of an all-British passenger airship, and adds that she has not necessarily limited the expenditure to £50,000. CANADA'S NAVAL COLLEGE. Ottawa. The Canadian Government's Naval Training College, in which officers for the coming Canadian navy are to receive their early, training, will be opened at Halifax, Nova Scotia, in October, in temporary quarters. The first draft will consist of .30 lads, but already over 200 applications for admission have been received.
